It was the traditional family Sunday lunch which first inspired Steve Smith’s love of cooking.

From those humble beginnings, Steve has worked in a number of internationally-renowned restaurants including Gordleton Mill, where he gained his first Michelin star – an accolade he has maintained for 20 years.

Now head chef at Bohemia, Steve is inspired by local produce, which takes centre stage in a number of his dishes, including his Jersey Royal ice cream starter.

Another local ingredient which Steve particularly enjoys working with is mackerel, and this features on both the lunch menu and tasting menu for Taste Jersey.

As well as being Michelin-starred, Bohemia holds a prestigious 5 AA rosette rating, positioning the restaurant in the top 5% of UK restaurants. The Good Food Guide 2018 ranked Bohemia as the 11th best restaurant in the UK, while the Sunday Times Top 100 guide listed its desserts as ‘the sixth best in the UK’.
